What position in American Football requires the most weight?

We're putting together concept sports team rosters for my school, and we need some help. We've decided to try for American Football (we're from England) and need someone to break down what each position requires in terms of size. Example: "this position" requires the person to be tall and fast. "and that position" requires a broad, heavy bloke. Thanks in advance. What about defence?

  1. Left Offensive Tackle--requires a big quick guy to keep the team's QB from getting sacked
  2. offense line - 6'2" to 6'7" - 310-350lbs. qb- 6'1 [ small] to 6'5" 225lbs
  3. CB
  4. anything on the offensive line because u have guys blitzing from everywhere . u have defensive linemen , and dbs , who will alwys try to get to the qb and the offensive line can use their strength and weight to get a good push and keep the QB safe from danger.
  5. Nose Tackle. You have to anchor the line and be able to take two to three blocks at any given time. You have to have alot of weight to stay in this position.
  6. Offensive Guards because they go against Defensive Tackles that weigh like 300 Ibs.
  7. On many teams it would be the right offensive tackle or either offensive guard. Their primary job is to plow forward in the run game so they need to be big. Some teams have a huge left offensive tackle which is incedental becaust the left offensive tackle needs to be nimble first. If they find a guy who is nimble and he happens to be huge then that is all the better but being quick on your feet is the more important trait. On defense the the defensive tackle is the big guy. He needs to be bulky to battle the offensive guards in the middle of the line.
  8. I think the question you want to be asking is: Which position can a person of the most weight do? I would think the most able position would be on the bottom, giving your woman or MAN (for the fruits out there) more access and mobility. Also I've heard the Swedish scissor vise position was quite useful for the larger folks.
  9. Offensive Lineman
  10. the most weight is defensive tackle, just look up cleveland browns shaun rogers.
  11. Usually the heaviest man on the team is the nose tackle.
  12. Defensive Tackle, to plug up holes and stop runs on interior line. If you find a guy with weight size and strenth you've got the perfect defensive tackle, 6' 6" 320-->350
  13. Defensive Tackle
