Who has been the smallest ever Gridiron player?

And what did they weigh? I have heard of 60kg football players in England and Italy, so what about Gridiron?

  1. When I was a kid growing up I had this awesome football game that consisted of a vibrating metal gridiron and a buch of dudes maybe an inch tall that weighed an ounce or two. I'd have to say that those guys are the smallest gridiron players of all time. Unless you want to count the red LED dots on the first ever electronic hand held football game. But does that count?
  2. His name was Shorty McGirt, he played for the University of Rhode island in 1957. He was said to be little more than a meter high and weighed 52 lbs. The coach's son, he was the placeholder for 3 games until a blocked kick attempt shattered his spine and left him knee-high to a knicker-bocker. His physical therapy included jogging in place with a rubberband around the back of his neck and hooked underfoot. He made a full recovery and now plays under the name Tony Romo.
