What is the Difference between Canadian Football and American Football?

I'm Australian and I often watch American football. But I just found out that there is a form of football called Canadian Football. Can someone please explain the difference between Canadian Football and American Football. Thanks.

  1. I know the field is longer and more narrow. This does not sound like much but makes a world of difference. there are some minor rule changes too. but field size is the main difference.
  2. The major differences: The Canadian field is longer, wider, and has the goalposts on the goal line rather than the back of the end zone. There are 12 players on each side instead of 11 There are 3 downs instead of 4 There are no "Touchbacks". Kicking a ball out of, or kneeling in the end zone, on a kick, punt or missed Field goal is a Single Point (called a rouge). There's a ton of minor differences too, but they are the big ones.
  3. one of the two try to score with haveing only three downs while the other leauge has four downs to make a first down, and that leauge can score a single while punting or kicking the ball, the scoring in the other leauge can only score a single after making a 6 point score. both leaugues can score 2 and 3 points. Other differences are fair catches, time-outs, size of fields, motion prior to the ball being snapped, legal catches,
