1. The pads and helmets. If you watch competitive soccer you will see its very much a contact sport. And rugby......thats one game I wouldnt play. Its like football without pads.
2. I was unaware of such a fact. I guess that's why there is the CFL (Canadian) and NFL Europe. Or maybe why there are always record turnouts when the NFL plays a game in another country. 8. I don't think everyone feels that way, at least not those who have actually sat down and watched it. Personally, I enjoy watching it. It's also worth noting that people who like football (as in 'proper' football - never call it soccer - it involves kicking the ball with a foot!) often refer to Rugby as 'egg chasing'. Fans of different sports often cite the reasons why their sport is great and anything they don't like is crap. I just watch what I watch, and don't give a shit what anyone else thinks about it...
9. i am not american and NFL is the only sport i watch. i follow it like crazy from off season, OTA, training camp, preseason, regular season and playoff including trades and draft picks. the only annoying thing about the NFL is the cowgirls and their fans.

19. Your premise is false because many people outside of the USA appreciate football. The sport is big in Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Germany to name several. For some reason people from the UK tend to think that their little hamlet is representative of the entire world... strange because the UK produces so few world class athletes. 21. very few people here in the UK care about American football but it is a local sport and there must be reasons people like it. Sport is a very private thing. Although its not nice to demean a sport that people (even if the sport is localised) its not right to say football (I mean real football) is only played in underdeveloped countries because it was a sport in Europe before America was colonised and in actual fact American football evolved from rugby which evolved from football so real football is the granddaddy of them all.Europe and football has existed for a mite longer than either the US or american football, In actual fact it is fair calling it american football because it came after real football and here we use our feet do u? Also strong belief that since football and association of football (not for very long or populalry and its where the word soccer came from ) existed had words for our sport before american football existed we kind of have the premier right to call our sport football.Its cool if u like american football but others (most of the world) like real football and even in Germany american football might be liked but not close to football, its maybe a 5th interest sport ( I am german married to a brit). Although in the end its all sport and if people like it, it has a point.
