Minnesota Vikings Rumors Knowledge Base
Minnesota Vikings next QB? The Vikings finally cut "old man" Brad Johnson this week, who are they going to get to replace him? They don't have anyone good enough on the roster.... anyone heard trade rumors? or will they get someone in the draft?
Minnesota Vikings get Torry Holt? It has been rumored that St. Louis is attempting to trade WR Torry Holt and have already released OT Orlando Pace. But for some reason, the Vikings haven't really shown any interest in the receiver that is the same age as Houshmanzadeh and probably more talented. In fact, they're not even mentioned in the trade talk. As an avid vikings fan, wtf? Why would they try so hard for Housh then not even attempt Holt?
Any Minnesota Vikings fans???? what needs are the Vikes to address?? WR, OG, Def backfield, QB??? WR: Not good picks, esp. last year, Marcus Robinson gone........ how about Jarrett from USC?? others??? I think OG can be address with a veteran, Def backfield, where Minnesota struggled all year..... ?? Aaron Ross - Texas, or Zach Bowman from Nebraska?? How about QB??? We have Tavarus Jackson, who may be good in a couple years. Rumor of Jake Plummer coming in?? What about a draft pick?? Chris Leak?? I'm thaat impressed with this years QBs. Any opinions??? Thanks!
NOT LYING!! Quinn to Minnesota rumour? The Browns have quarterback Derek Anderson signed to start, but have no picks in the first three rounds of April's NFL draft. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Browns backup QB Brady Quinn could possibility be traded to the Vikings for their first-round pick (No. 17 overall). Anyone know about this
Where will TJ Houshmandzadeh play in 2009? There have been rumors flying about numerous teams that are interested in the 32 year old veteran wide receiver, none of which have been confirmed.Teams interested in TJ Houshmandzadeh include -New York Giants -Seattle Seahawks -San Francisco 49ers -Minnesota Vikings This is a two part question. Where do you believe TJ will play in 2009 and who would like you like to see TJ play for in 2009? Eagles are not interested in TJ anymore.
NFL free agent rumors out of chicago? Rumors are the Bernard Berrian has turned down a Bears offer and is apparently loking at Minnesota as a possible suitor. Lance Briggs has been contacted by the Buccaneers, chances are the Bears never had a shot at him. Can Jamar Wilson fill Lance Briggs' position? Should the Bears go after a WR like Donte Stallworth, Bryant Johnson or Andre Davis? I think they really need to make a run at Michael Turner and maybe an OL like Alan Faneca. Bears fans what do you think? Vikings fans how do you feel about Berrian? Bucs fans, how would Lance Briggs fit in your system? (I think I also heard that they recently signed our 3rd TE John Gilmore who is a solid player).
Jay Cutler to the Vikings??? What do you think? Strong rumor is that Jay Cutler will be heading to Minnesota after Denver failed to deal him in the Matt Cassel swirl............Don't laugh; I have been right on the money several times!!! I think this would be great for the Vikings!!! Maybe newly aquired Rosenfels and $$ and another player...........who knows! Hey Mark, You must not watch ESPN..........Denver stabbed that dude in the back BIG TIME!!
Where Can I Keep Up With Brett Favre's Retirement Status? I want to know if there is some website out there that will keep up with Brett Favre's chance to come back to the Minnesota Vikings next year for another shot? I really hope this happens and I have heard rumors that his status went from 'highly unlikely' to 'unlikely' and I want to know if there is a place to see what it is at at all times? "At all times" is merely a statement that meant that it is always up to date and a legitimate source. So if you are gonna be prissy and leave dumb answers like that there is no need for you to be on Yahoo Answers. I just wanted to know, I do in fact have a life.... jerk....
Most people think donovan mcnabb is in his last year with philadelphia. Where does he go next? http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/McNabb-s-tenure-is-probably-over-in-Philadelphia;_ylt=AgIEeMMi4Dq8uhXZYQA4P8pDubYF?urn=nfl,122534 Donovan McNabb has played in the NFL for 10 years and Sunday he claimed he didn't know that a game can and will end in a tie if the score is still even after one 15-minute overtime session. McNabb will also find out his tenture with the Philadelphia Eagles is probably over. This will likely come as good news to Brad Childress and the Minnesota Vikings.
I read today that there were a possible 8 teams that could move to L.A., which ones are they? According to this Philadelphia Inquirer article http://www.philly.com/inquirer/sports/20090227_NFL___Jacobs__Giants_need_Burress_back.html there are indications that the Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Buffalo Bills are candidates to move to the area. But which teams are the other five? I've read in the past that the Seahawks, Jaguars, and Bengals could move. And this was before Hurricane Katrina had the Saints in rumors headed for San Antonio. But I can't figure out what other teams are considering relocation. Have you heard anything?
NFL Mock Draft Version 3.0? I gave some details towards the first 10 picks 1 Detriot Lions - Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest ( Rumors have it that the Lions and Stafford are closing in on a deal, but he’s not their only choice for the first pick. It’s going to come down to who will take less money, and Curry has already expressed that he would do so if needed.) 2 St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith, OL, Baylor ( This is an obvious pick, the Rams need someone that can keep Bulger upright.) 3 Kansas City Chiefs - Brian Orakpo, DE/LB, Texas ( With Curry gone the Chiefs take the next best defensive player which is Orakpo, the hybrid linebacker out of Texas. With the Chiefs switching to the 3-4 defense, he will be able to be put into the OLB position and produce some very needed sacks) 4 Seattle Seahawks - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia ( There is no way the Seahawks pass up on this pick. With Hasselbeck on his way down, Seattle bring in Stafford and put him under the wings of Hasselbeck for a year or two until he’s ready to start) 5 Cleveland Browns - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech (With Donte Stallworth gone from the team, and Braylon Edwards on the trading block, the Browns take Crabtree to help whoever is the starting QB in week 1) 6 Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith, OL, Alabama ( Sure people have questioned Andre Smith’s attitude but he is the best OT in the draft. He will start from week one and protect Carson Palmer’s back.) 7 Oakland Raiders - Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri ( Maclin is one the most versatile players in the draft this year. This is a typical Al Davis pick, and he should be able to provide a target for JaMarcus Russell.) 8 Jacksonville Jaguars - Eugene Monroe, OL, Virginia ( With almost the whole starting line injured last season the Jags take Monroe, so they can try to establish that punishing running game they have 2 years ago and protect Garrard.) 9 Green Bay Packers - B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College ( Ted Thompson goes with the philosophy of taking the best player available, in this case it’s B.J. Raji. With the Packers switching to the 3-4 they need a dominant big guy in the middle to free up blockers for Kampman and Hawk) 10 San Francisco 49ers - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC ( With Alex Smith being a bust, the 49ers need to get a QB to put some points on the scoreboard. Sanchez will be able to step in and instantly be the leader of the team.) 11 Buffalo Bills - Brian Cushing, LB, USC ( 12 Denver Broncos - Malcom Jenkins, CB, Ohio St. 13 Washington Redskins -Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee 14 New Orleans Saints - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois 15 Houston Texans - Everette Brown, DE, Florida St. 16 San Diego Chargers - Rey Malaluga, LB, USC 17 New York Jets - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas St. 18 Denver Broncos - James Laurinitis, LB, Ohio St. 19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina 20 Detroit Lions (from Dallas) - Eben Britton, OL, Arizona 21 Philadelphia Eagles - Aaron Maybin, DE/LB, Penn. St. 22 Minnesota Vikings - William Beatty, OL, Conneticut 23 New England Patriots - Larry English, DE/LB, Northern Illinois 24 Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry, DL, Mississippi 25 Miami Dolphins - Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest 26 Baltimore Ravens - Darius Butler, CB, Conneticut 27 Indianapolis Colts - Evander Hood, DT, Missouri 28 Buffalo Bills - Alex Mack, C, California 29 New York Giants - Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers 30 Tennessee Titans - Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland 31 Arizona Cardinals - Clay Matthews, LB, USC 32 Pittsburgh Steelers - Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
Where do you think Donovan McNabb will be playing next season? I was hoping and wishing it would be the Raiders yesterday because they are really pushing hard to get him, but He has come out ans said that his first choice to play is Minnesota and rumors have come out that he won't sign a long-term deal with the Rams, Raiders, or Bills so I believe he is forcing the Eagles to keep him because no one will want to give up a high draft pick for a 1 year rental. They could put the franchise tag on him after the 2010 season but would you want a McNabb who isn't happy. I see him going back to the Eagles because he wants to go to the Vikings but they don't want him, and he doesn't want to go to the other teams.
You know what would make me a lot more sympathetic towards Brett Favre? If he would publicly come out; NOW, Before any further rumors or talks proceed, And state one thing categorically - "Under no circumstances, NO circumstances whatsoever; No matter what the Packers organization decides for it's future - Will I ever - EVER - play football as a Minnesota Viking, A Chicago Bear, or a Detroit Lion. That is antihetical to me and the legacy I have built among my many fans and I WILL be willing to retire; Permanently if neccesary - Before I would ever allow that to happen." If Brett would just come out and say that - To dispel any possibility of the absolute travesty of seeing him ever take a field in purple or some such would be - I would instantly be a lot more sympathetic to his situation. I frankly think the Packers should take him back; But I think Brett is totally disrespecting both the organization that helped make him a legend and his own legacy to allow the media to even flirt with the idea that ANYTHING the Packers could do - EVEN IF... (Con't) ...they decide that they are moving on with the future with Aaron Rodgers (Which wouldn't be as out of line as some fans are acting, BTW - Even Favre can only play so long; He is almost 40 years old, After all!) would be enough to make him forever tarnish all his accomplishments by moving to a rival team - Especially when most of those rivals have had large portions of their followings disrespect Favre often throughout his career...
